Ron Orr was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for the Lacombe-Ponoka constituency on May 5, 2015.
He has a Master’s degree in Theology and is an ordained Minister. He also holds a Journeyman Carpenter’s ticket and a Registered Housing Professional Certificate. He previously owned and managed a general contracting business.
His community involvement includes board positions with a number of charitable organizations including the Gull Lake Centre and Calgary’s Mustard Seed Society.
He volunteered for 7 years on a very active Search and Rescue team and as a Communications Officer for an Alberta Municipal Emergency Management Community.
Ron’s interests include reading, wilderness adventure especially by canoe, and woodworking.
Ron has been married to his wife Donna for over 40 years. They have 3 adult children and 8 grandchildren.
In the Community
The Alberta government will be building 5 recovery communities for the holistic treatment of mental health and addiction.
The used oil recycling regulation from Alberta Recycling Management Authority has not been updated since its beginning 23 years ago.
