Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche
Laila has almost five years’ experience working in the oil and gas sector. Being born and raised in Fort McMurray, Laila grew up a proud Albertan and as the representative for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche she has always been an advocate for our energy sector.
Prior to her own election, Laila worked for a number of Members of the Legislative Assembly, and for a time served the Minister of Environment in Ottawa.
Laila is fluently bilingual, she attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean in Political Science. She was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in the July 12, 2018 by-election, elected to represent the then riding of Fort McMurray-Conklin.
