Legislative Researcher

The Research team is responsible for providing policy expertise, identifying gaps and issues, and developing policies and recommendations of viable policy solutions that are aligned with UCP Caucus strategic priorities and objectives. The team conducts research and analysis of relevant information and data for UCP Caucus initiatives; establishes and maintains internal and external stakeholder relationships; evaluates the efficacy of public policies; and communicates and presents findings and strategic considerations effectively.

Qualifications and Skills

•Proven ability to prepare strong written communications — letters, briefs, reports, presentations, etc. — under a tight deadline
•Experience delivering research and analysis in one or more of the following areas: Quantitative research, Qualitative research, Policy analysis, Statistical analysis, Economic analysis, Market analysis, Program Evaluation
•Experience providing expert evidence-based policy recommendations and advice that align with strategic organizational priorities
•Ability to write policy reports that synthesize information, benefit constituents, and display evidence
•Experience assessing effects of public policies and/or programs, evaluating current approaches, and considering multiple paths to achieving policy goals
•Ability to liaise with stakeholders to understand and document needs, concerns, and viewpoints
•Equivalencies will be considered
